Cooling question

Pretty much, I'm wondering if it makes much of a difference to cover up PCI/PCI express extension covers on the case? I lost the little metal things to cover up the empty slots, and taped them shut. Just wondering if it makes any difference? Also what are those called? Thanks.

It doesn't make a difference. Mine are slotted like a grill, so air still passes through them. They're just called expansion slot covers.

There are many holes in your case for air to come in/out of, the only benefit of a properly sealed case would be to limit dust intake, and ensure that the airflow is moving properly and efficiently from front to back. If you have a positive air pressure in the case (more air coming in than going out), along with fan filters on the intakes, you will drastically reduce the amount of dust that comes in through those openings.
