Hello!
I have an LG cd/dvd burner that will not even read dvds because of something about copy protection. i would really appreciate any help because ím very clueless and i just bought this second hand computer so maybe i just have to adjust some settings i have no clue!
Thanx a lot!!!

when you talk about reading, are you saying you can't play them? If so, do you have a video card with tv/S-video out?

Go to google and type in: DVD43

It is a great program that runs in your background and strips the copyright off the disc. But you didn't hear that from me.

I would not download dvddecypter. If I'm correct the actual maker of this program had to stop doing any upgrades and he had to pass it to the Feds. The maker states that no one should download , do upgrades and or email him any more since he has turn over everything in regards to dvddecypter.

I have an LG dvd/cd burner. right out of the box, you should have no trouble viewing dvds, and backing up using dvd-clone or any other ripper out there...

You are correct Lightning_UK did have to cease upgrading Decrypter, but the Feds? No, Feds are in the U.S., Lightning_UK is in the UK ;) Just had to stop.

DVD Shrink will not break the newer copy protections out there. Not even sure if DVD43 will break all of them.

DVD Decrypter works on most ... not all. The combination of AnyDVD w/ DVD Decrypter works.

You don't get a copy protection error (css encryption) if your trying to play em .. you get it when your trying to rip the DVD.

What program do you guys use to copy dvd's with copy protection on them? I want to burn my dvd collection, so I have a set to take with me for my car TV, and another set to keep at my house. Is it hard to do? I have a dvd-rom, and a dvd-burner.

For ease I would just use DVD Decrypter to rip the files to HDD and run them through DVD shrink to create an iso that will fit on a DVD-R. You can find guides at sites like doom9.org and afterdawn.com
