copying a dual layer dvd

can anyone tell me how to copy the contents of a full dual layer dvd, then split it into 2 and burn onto normal dvd's. thanks
 
careful with the content you're copying ? can't you just do a normal copy via explorer ?
what are you copying anyways ? movie ?
