Copying registrys....

Hey, im going to be basicly ghosting my Hdd from desktop so i was wondering can i copy my registry's, create the same directorys, copy my current registrys to the second hdd and have the same programs work?

Basicly i just need to know how to copy registrys if possible, thanks.
 
I doubt it would work. I suggest you just Ghost it and not take any chances. I would be interested to know if it would work,let us know if you try it.

To save your registry type "regedit" at run and then export your registry backup where ever you choose.

I highly doubt it would work. In theory it seems like a great idea, but there's so many complications and things that could go wrong.

Please do let us know how it goes if you try it.
 
Well m going to do it today. Basicly i have a few partitions and i want to move Xp from a 100Gb partition to a 20Gb partition, but the 100Gb partition had 26Gb on it from programs so i wanted to move some programs from one partition to another. THen i will ghost it. Now that i think about it i dont have to copy my registrys.... Ill let you know how it goes.
