Core 2 Duo and matx

Intel is saying that newer LGA775 motherboards with either the 965 or 975 chipset will work with Core 2 Duo. Older versions of those boards wont work because they dont support the Core 2 Duo's lower voltages.

To choose the right motherboard, we will need to know exactly what you would like on a motherboard (integrated video, PCI-E, how many SATA Ports, ect).

If your trying to find a motherboard for use with a new Core 2 Duo system, I would wait until the CPU's come out since you will have a wider selection of motherboards to choose from, and the ones currently out now may lower in price.

I would like it to have PCI-E, at least 2 SATA ports (preferably 4 3Gb/s), 10/100/1000 and 2-3 PCI. I would also like it to have a firewire and USB header. Maybe some other things but that is all I can think of right now. I figured I would probably have to wait until after they come out but since I can preorder the CPU now, I was hoping that I could get everything right away.
