Core 2 Duo Prices vs Power Discrepancies

Am I missing something here?

The E6400 is 2.13Ghz/2MB/1066Mhz FSB and is $198
The E6750 is 2.66Ghz/4MB/1333Mhz FSB and is $197
The E6700 is 2.67Ghz/4MB/1066Mhz FSB and is $290

Except for the extreme editions, which are appropriately priced albeit only marginally better.

The future is now where less powerful CPUs cost more, and Skynet was never created, but Terminator got John Connor anyway? Whats up with that? I guess I'll have to buy a 6-cylinder Ford Mustang because the 3-cylinder Geo Metro is about to become more expensive too.

Sorry if this has already been discussed, but I cant seem to find it anywhere.
 
yeah it has been run over a few times, the e6700 and e6400 are discontinued processors, and since places like newegg bought their stock earlier when the processors were more expensive, they want to cut their losses, and try not to make any more. other then that, the e6750 is still in production and odds are that newegg bought them for a heap cheaper then they originally paid for the e6400's that they still have in stock.
 
This has been posted numerous times. The E6750 is much better then the other two, the reason it's cheaper (most likely) is because Intel shipped the newer series of Core 2 Duo's such as the E6750, to retailers at a lower price then they did the E6400 and E6700. So the retailers don't want to mark those items lower then they paid, so they are priced higher.
