I was wondering how long will core 2 duo be priced at the same price and when the price drops how much will it drop to? cuz i plan on getting one but its still kinda high like i was wondering when and how much will it drop

They seem pretty steady now because of the high demand and lack of competition, but once Intel releases it's lower end Core 2 Duo's, and more Core 2 Quads, in addition to AMD's new CPU's, the prices should come down.

when's the projected date on that?

Price cuts as followed are expected Q2 this year:

The E6300 and E6400 will also be replaced with the E6320 and E6420, which feature 4MB of L2 Cache but are otherwise identical.

isn't that pretty much how the technology world works, though? i mean, shouldn't we expect it to go down again in another 6 months after that?

and will the 4MB of L2 Cache make a huge performance difference? i'm trying to figure out if i get a E6400 now or wait and get the E6600 for the same price in 90+ days.

I think they generally mean around that time. It's not going to drop to those prices the day that Q2 starts, but it gives you an idea as to when you should expect the price drops.
