One is just a generic term for saying there are 2 cores on one die. While the other one (Core 2 Duo) is a new architecture which Intel called Core to get away from the Pentium name. Its a new faster, cooler, and all around better architecture.

I have a similar question is it better to have a Pentium Dual-Core 2.0 or a Intel Core 2 Duo 1.5 or 1.6 ???

The difference between E4500 and E2200 is that E4500 has twice the L2 cache

There is no other difference

Thats depend in what model you are comparing.

For example, I recommend E5200 over E4600, even though E5200 is called Pentium Dual core

The E5200 has same cache as E4600 but it is based on 45nm Wolfdale, therefore E5200 is better.
