Core 2 Extreme with 8Mb Cache!!! QX6700

:) I didn't know that the, QX6700 has an 8Mb L2 cache:eek:. I was reading the unwanted Dell magazine and they had one clocked to 3.2Ghz. What type of power do you guys think this'll have, if I spring for it instead of the E6600? Should I?

Somebody said something about Intel coming out with a 3.0Ghz version of the Core 2 Duo. Is this for real? Price? I am guessing April 22, eh?

A few people on this forum have it, and the cache isnt really that impressive. The QX6700 is just two E6700's combines, which have 4MB of L2 each.

And they are great for benchmarks, but the X6800 performs better for games.

Mine will be for gaming however, another PC I am building will need it for Photoshop and some server tasks. Can I get a recommendation for it?

and by then Quad core will be coming out and if you wait a bit longer, you can get one of them cheap when intel releases 8 core CPUs sometime in 2008 :P
