Core i7 920 What's a C0 vs a D0?

I'm reading some reviews on Newegg - and I keep seeing reference to C0 and D0 verisons of this processor.

Does anybody know what they're referring to.
 
D0 and C0 are two different versions of the same processor, basically. they give the same performance, but D0 will need less voltage and produce less heat to get to higher overclocks.

So D0 are newest versions of the i7 Processor. As time goes on - all of em will be D0's?
 
it has to do with manufactured quality. the higher the quality, the better it overclocks. its a "stepping" sort of. normally cpu-z will tell you which one you have, but it always says on top of the CPU IHS. different stepping qualities are the reason they underclock them quite a bit from where their true potential is, to ensure stability no matter what stepping you get sold. normally they manufacture X amount of chips, some of them are high quality chips. some of them get turned into "extreme" versions of their processor model. of course, not many people buy those so some people get a lower model of that processor that has the true potential of the extreme processors with an overclock.
