Core Solo or Core Duo

well, for general purpose stuff, dual-core would be faster but single core would be cheaper so it depends on your budget. I'd recommend getting the single core "Solo" if "general purpose" doesnt include anything particulary CPU heavy. Also, with the dual core, battery life probably would be shortened.
