Core unlocker? what?

Many AMD cpu's are actually quad cores, even though they're sold as dual or triple core cpu's. The cores are locked because either the core failed a test, or the market demanded a lower-end processor. For example, as far as I know, all Phenom II processors have 4 cores, so you stand a good chance of unlocking a phenom II 550/555 into a tripe or quad. Same with the triple-core Athlons II's. Not sure about the duals. I think that single-core Sempron is a locked dual core...

Most motherboards can do this, but apparently ASUS has made some sort of tool to aid the process.

Core unlocker helps to scans the installed processor to properly determine which cores and cache can be unlocked....
