core2 showing as single processor in taskmanager

My Asus p5b-e may be at fault because I read about another asus user having the same problem. He gave up and bought another board though.
Device manager shows that the ACPI multiprocessor CPU HAL is installed, and there are two processor detected, but taskmanager shows only one CPU. Anyone have any ideas?

All I could find I tried. I guess they were for optimizing dual core systems because they didn't fix it.

It sure does...

To clarify, I did all those patches, regfix, and boot.ini edit, but it didn't solve the problem. I think half of those were specific to athlons anyway.
