Corrupt HDD folders

The other day I was sitting at my computer and when i attempted to enter into my games folder I got the error "The disk in drive E: is not formatted. Do you want to format it now" I looked around and a few other folders where the same way. I searched online for a bit and some suggested using chkdsk. It deleted some files and i think fixed some others. But now it happened again and I had to use chkdsk. Does anyone know of a program that can help or if my hard drive is about to die. Its less then a year old. Its a Western Digital WD2500KS.

The first quick test got the error "Status code = 07 (Failed read test element), Failure Checkpoint = 65 (Error Log Test)" after about 10 seconds. I'm in the middle of the extended test right now, but it says its going to take 45 hours. If anyone has anymore suggestion or knows what that code means, I have plenty of time. :)
