Long story, wife loaded up a cheap game on her xp HP notebook. Computer quit booting and I didn't have XP OS or recovery dvds so I ordered recovery dvds from HP.
After hours online chat and email exchange with HP, I gave up as they were of no help.
I start teh recovery and it runs for approx 4 hours, indicates a full recovery. When I try to restart, only way I can get system to boot is in safe mode. HDD test was fine, mem test seemed fine. Because I kept getting registry corruption errors, I reformatted HDD in Black X docking station. Still wouldn't boot to XP except Safe Mode.
I located XP install disks and tried to load XP onto formatted disk and receive message , no HD found.
ANy help/suggestions?
