I have a Corsair 850HX PSU, rest of specs in sig.
IIRC, it has been like this from day one. The +12 volt rail is reading 3.5 volts under a couple different programs. Now when I put the computer under load, it will go up to 12 to 13 volts. Could this be a false reading? I was told if it was that low, my computer would not run at all. If it is a false reading, why does it jump up under load? It almost seems like there is some kind of setting causing it to be low. But there isn't a setting that will do that, is there?
The +5 VCCH is a little low as well showing 3.6 volts. Everything else is where it should be.
Is this a definite problem with the PSU? Should I be worried about this? I may try to install it in a different computer. If I do install it in a different computer and it shows the same readings, does that confirm the PSU is messed up?
Now the bios shows the correct readings. Why would the bios show the correct readings and not in Windows?
Is there a way to test the PSU with a volt meter?
