There is only one problem, the screws are just to hard. Is this stuf normal?

On a lot of new fans you're actually creating the screw grooves, so the first screw in is significantly more difficult than in future attempts.

Yeah that's normal, just be careful not to strip the screws.

Awesome. So should I do it outside the case and install them afterwards? How do you guys do it?

Get a good screw driver and screw them into place. You can do it outside but its' not really necessary.

It always take more pressure to screw in the first time. Use a #2 phillips as it will work better then a #1 phillips

Slightly ironic since I'm at work right now surrounded by various Phillips head screwdrivers.

Guessing it's just a size distinction?

Size of the head yes. I normally use a #1 when building a pc except for installing fans and I use #2.
