Corsair CX500 alternatives ?

So my build is
Core i5 3470S 65W Ivy Bridge 2.9GHz 6MB LGA (4 CPUs)
4GB Ram
Integrated Graphics card
180W psu (PS3 Slot)

and i'm gonna get Radeon r9 280,Fractal Design Define R4 case(so i can use ATX psu)
and for the psu i'm probably getting Corsair CX500 but i'm not too sure about it, i wanna be sure that 500W will be enough (should be)...
and i just wanted to know if there are any other good PSU options in the same price range ?
or should i even get CX600 ? it's pretty much same price

You don't need to spend that much on a case. NZXT and Corsair both make great cases for half the price of that.

On the subject if the PSU: yeah as Jason (spirit) said just get the CX600M. It's like 10 bucks more.

Hmm well nothing's too sure yet, i might get some other case instead ;)

I really, really like the Define R4. I've used them a lot from R2 to R4. But there definitely are cheaper almost-as-good alternatives.
The Phantek Enthoo Pro has gotten some incredible reviews, but it's not available here in Denmark yet. And it'll probably be hella expensive. But it's only $99 in the US.
Hardware Canucks review
My jaw was at the floor when I saw this and the price tag.

Well it's not that it's a bad case. But I wouldn't reccomend spending $100 on a case if it limits you to a lower GPU or CPU. It seems to be limiting CS to a R9 280, but if he got a cheaper case he would have the extra cash to get a R9 280X.

You can get the Corsair 300R without a side window for $70 which is a good deal.

You can get a 200R for even less.

Both would be good choices too!

I'm not entirely sure if my budget is 350 or 400 (€) so imma go with 350 right now,
lets say i get r9 280 200€
then cx600 60 €
and define r4 75€

thats 335 €

if i get for ex. Corsair 200r 50€ then the cost is 315€ which gives me 35€ extra to spare and 280x is ~245€
so yeah i guess if i get a cheaper case, i can get 280x and if the budget is 400 i can slap in 4 gb more ram, which would leave me with a pretty nice build (enough for me at least)

also guys, is Corsair Carbide SPEC-02(or 03) a bad case, i really like it but i guess it doesn't have the quality of 200r and 300r ?

could i get your skype man ? (idk how and if you can send a personal message on this forum)
or just add CHRLSK if you don't wanna share it publicly (mine's pretty public anyways)

Once you've written 100 posts on here you'll be able to send/receive PMs and visitor messages.

I can add you to Skype or Steam.
