hey all,

just a quick one, i know i cheaped out when i got my power supply,

however, my setup is in my sig, whats the most powerful graphics i could put in, before i need to bump the power supply too?

thanks ;)

budgets not really, the issue, just wondering how far i can take the cx500 without having to upgrade that too,

so 570? thats the most i can jam in there?

The 570 would be pushing it. You would really need to get the tx650 watt corsair to safely run it.

I would be very suprised if that system with a GTX570 would require more than 400W on the 12V rail.

I"ve been finding a few sites that recommend at least a 550 watt with 35 amps.

So if thats the case, then these would work fine.

With the xfx being the better unit.

GTX 570 TDP is 219W @ stock. A 650W unit (quality one of course) could probably run two of them without a major CPU overclock.

But that wasn't the question.

35A is only 420W, where as the current PSU can provide 400W on the 12V rail. Hardly worth an upgrade, and plenty for a GTX570. In fact, that system even overclocked probably wouldn't pull 400W from the wall.
