This is my system (the gst of it)

AMD dual core 3.5ghz 970 black edition CPU
Sapphire radeon 6870 GPU
kingston value ram 4GB
M4A87TD/USB3 motherboard
Western Digital 500GB HDD

Will my Corsair HX650w power this, when playing modern games, easily and safely? I will not be overclocking or modding in any way. I cannot afford a higher wattage either way. I will just refrain from playing games untill i have a higher wattage PSU if you think it is pushing the limits. Thanks

If someone coulkd give me a ball park figure of how much wattage in their opinion my system would actually be using, and state if gaming or not gaming, that would be amazing. I would love to know what people think about that. Thanks!

Oh thanks Ethan! Man, some other forums are so different in their views xP Thanks heaps i feel good now coz the hx650 is my only option anyway

At most your system will be using ~400w at full load. Probably idling at less than half of that. The 6870 requires little power, and AMD CPU's are quite accurate about their advertised TDP.

Awesome. That system is prolly using more power than mine too eh? I'm not sure on that, i dont know a great deal about nvidia. Thanks

The cpu would be using more power than mine i think, thats all i can speculate on and im still not sure. Thanks man

O thank you Ethan, didnt see your post there. Wow thats great :-) Another forum just made sure i didnt build my pc with a temporary antec high current gamer 520watt. I was planning to build with that and upgrade asap, but they thought i might kill my componants. O well :-)
