Anyone done an RMA with corsair recently? One of my 2gb sticks is dead and i'm getting it replaced.

I told them i only bought one stick because i heard that if you bought a kit of 2 you need to send both back. Well i did but i absolutely need my computer for schoolwork... Will i be alright? Can i ask them to send a stick of exactly the same specs?

cheers.

They should just send you a new one back, I think they still sell all their dual channel 'sets' as individual sticks.

I had to send all three of my sticks back, because they go by the purchased part number.

I bought a cheap 1GB stick off DDR3 1066 so I could still use my pc.

Not sure how they will handle your situation.

Yeah, I really don't think you'll be able to send just one stick back, for a number of reasons. I don't know about Corsair's specific return policy, but it's common of manufacturers to want a copy of the invoice from where you purchased it as well as the original packaging. Also, even though they might be the exact same piece of hardware, the model number on a memory stick can be different depending on whether it was sold alone or with other memory sticks.

It shouldn't be too difficult to find a cheap stick of memory... I would just ask any of the other members on this board that live in Australia, someone should have a spare laying around.

I do have a paypal invoice somewhere, i bought the set over ebay. I haven't showed them that, they already gave me an RMA # and a shipping label.

If all else fails i will send both back and maybe sell some other stuff and go AM3 with a cheap dualcore that unlocks?

Well i put one in the RMA, I've gone to change it, but it reverts back to one stick...

I'll just send both away with a sticker on one saying *this one is faulty* or something lol.

What if i buy a used phenom that has been proven to unock? ;)

i am filing a rma with ocz, they didnt ask much just gave me and rma number and address to send it to, wanted me to include both sticks from the set.

so im doin that tomorrow

Yeah with corsair i did the express RMA because i selected the "I am an expert and i know the stick is dead. i jsut want it to be replaced" :P

So normally you'd have to explain whats wrong and all that stuff.
