Cosair XMS vs. Value Select

Hi, i was debating over whether i should get 1GIG of Cosair XMS DDR Ram or purchase the 1GIG Cosair Value Select DDR. Is there any major performance jump because of the latency differences...would i be able to notice a difference between them performance wise?

But between the ones that you posted, there would hardly be a difference unless you plan to overclock, but the link i just posted would be much better that that XMS since its CL2. So if you dont plan to overclock, there isnt much reason to get it.

I have another question, now that i have 1.5gig (1gig x 512mb)(ValueSelect) i was planning on giving the 512 to my dad....and then purchase another 1 gig stick to make 2gigs..so then im ready for vista. Although now that i have 1 gig of Value Select Cosair ram, I was thinking if i could purchase that XMS type that you sent me the link to: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145560 and to combine it with my current ram OR purchase another 1 gig value select. im just not sure if mixing the XMS and the value select would give a performance jump compared to 2x 1gig Value Select.

if you mix them then the lat would run at 3, so just get another gig of value select

Wow, i must have been thinking of california when i said that i meant canada.

Dont add the XMS to your value select, it will downgrade it to the value select. Either get all XMS or all value select.
