Could it be the Vid Card?

OK, so here are the specs

512 DDR Ram
Pentium 4 2.6ghz
6600 GT AGP

Ok.... so during multiple attempts at a game of Age o Empires 3, the comp will freeze each time after approx 10 min......

we tested each piece of ram individually, and both seem to work fine, the bios appears so prolly not the mobo???

The 6600GT has always seemed to work fine, but could it be overheating??

now the comp will run it, but.... it was handling mid to max graphics, but now, after it froze numerous times, will only run lowest setting without lagging out very badly. Is the vid card dead now?
 
No, but if that is the 128MB card (I believe without looking that is...), then the card really can't handle much more than mid at the very most preferably somewhere between low to mid. Definitely to be looking into a newer card if you'd like to be playing some of those newer games at higher resolutions.
 
hmm thats odd, because X800GTO can handle full graphics @1280/1024, and a 6600 is just a little lower then that... (although, my card is 256MB not 128)
 
I can run it at med at 1024x768 on a 256MB Intel Extreme Graphics chip, with 512 Mb of ram and pentium M 2 Ghz. So you should be able to play it easily.
