Could someone explain Sandy Bridge to me?

More specifically (thread title limits), what is it about SB that makes everyone recommend I wait for it to build rather than using the current i7 line?

sanybridge has really good quality built in graphics, that are better than most entry level graphics cards.

Which is pointless... The price of them at the minute makes them out of the range of the average user - the average user that doesn't need graphical power.

That means there are only 2 groups of people that will be using them - gamers/enthusiasts or those that need number crunching power. The former will have a video card because low end graphics cards won't cut it, and the latter don't need any more than integrated, so won't be using it.

StrangleHold has it right, imagine the "previous" line of socket 1366 processors, but cheaper, faster and more efficient

A common misconception. A very noticeable performance gain can be seen by simply installing a graphics card in any system. The average user doesn't know this, so they deal with the lost CPU power by blaming it on their hard drive or RAM or whatever Geek Squad says.

The average user checks emails, runs office software, goes on facebook and twitter and not a whole lot else. Graphical processing is not a massive thing at all there, you can do all of those jobs on a fairly old system and still have resources to spare, they do not need anything more than integrated for the tasks they want to do, and the tasks they want to do won't be taxing the CPU or memory anyway, so the integrated graphics on the die are wasted

The average user nowadays adds in photo-browsing and video-viewing in moderation. Still, without these additions, the GPU takes enough load off the CPU to make a significant performance improvement that will take a noticeable amount of time off of their daily computer use waiting.
