hi i'm having this issue with my gps receiver on my laptop. when the ac adapter is plugged into my house's power outelet everything works fine the gps and the laptop(compaq n600c) and the gps works fine too while on battery. but the probelm is that when i plugged the ac adapter into the inverter(uses to convert car dc12v into normal house ac) the laptop draws power from the inverter with no problem, but the gps just won't work. the inverter is certified for laptop applications, could this be the inverter's problem or the laptop? thanks

An inverter is an inverter. I don't see how it could be certified for anything as they all should work just fine for basically any AC device.
Power could be an issue, but I'd think the inverter would act up before anything else. Skimming around, I think you use a 90watt AC adapter. The GPS shouldn't that many more... How many watts is your inverter rated for?
