C criatino New Member Nov 26, 2011 #3 It happens as soon as I turn on the laptop and the computer can't reach the Windows logon screen. I've already connected an external monitor, but the same happens. The external monitor displays with those "scan lines". Replacing the video card would work?

It's probably an integrated chipset, so you'd have to replace the motherboard. Try different memory first - could be defective memory.
