Could use suggestions re mobo for new machine

I can't quite understand not buying 'lastest' technology logic...
What you need to do is wait for 3 months to allow price cool down a bit, and solve out problem with major bugs.

I don't see the point of getting an outdated LGA 775 CPU. Waste of money. Most mobo these day don't have IDE port. Get yourself a usb floppy.

Wouldnt last gen be phenom2 am3/1136 intel sockets?

775 is quite old tech, im running a 775 mobo myself because i cant afford a new platform. Not out of choice :p

From what iv read both phenom and 1136 hardware is proven, as is latest 1155

id say only latest tech that isnt is bulldozer.

??
What is 1136??
There are 1156 and 1366, no 1136.
But they are not as good as 1155

Gah my numbers are screwed lol, and which ever that it is its better than 775 is what iw as getting at.

i also meant that the 1366 would be last gen and better than 775, im not familiar with 1156

well they don't have any mATX ones, there aren't like any that even support ddr3 but that one and another that is also ATX

Pretty cool man. Havent worked on a AT case in a long time. Think the last Socket 7 board I had (probably nobody has ever head of them) was a Rise super 7 board. Had a really good Asus board, but for life of me I cant remember the model number. Had a little slot that you could add more onboard L2 cache. With a K6-III it used it as L3 cache.

Edit
That 5th photo down, I had a case just like the one in the middle, atleast it looked alot like it. Still had the turbo switch on it.

Can find them, but cant find a micro that supports a QX9770. Most micro has lowend power phase setup. Most just has a 95W limit.
