could you get a phone number from an e-mail adress?

I had something on the recycler with my e-mail adress only, then to my suprise someone called on it. Is it possible to get my phonenumber fomr my e-mail adress somehow?

Sorry if this shouldn;t be in the general computer section, I'm not used to it being split.

You could trace a desired IP address and find addresses and phone numbers, emails, and names......namely with a tracer program. Try download.com


But, you might just be looking at ISP information and administrators.
 
Well it could take a couple steps... If i really wanted a phone number I would..
Use the email address and try to find a name associated with it somewhere (forums, member directories like yahoo.) once I found the name, look for general location, city stae etc. Once you have a location and first last name, just do a yahoo people search.
 
Use your resources... If I had an ip and an email address.... ;)

Also, recycler.com is by major city. So he already knows what city your from.

It goes by areacode, not major city. and considering i didn;t put in an phonenumber for it to show up by areacode....

and he wouldn;t have my IP just my e-mail.
