Counter Strike over LAN

I have a network of 2 PCs, on one PC I have Counter Strike Source and on the other PC, Counter Strike 1.6, can I play multiplayer through LAN?

Not unless its the same game you cant. You can play a LAN on CSS on both PC's or vice versa, but not one running 1.6 and one running Source.

'fraid so. You can try using your same steam ID on the other PC but I dont think it will work.

Buy a cd key for it from eBay. I did, and it was alot cheaper then buying it in a shop

But It's a used CD key, right? You can't re-activate the game...

They shouldnt be used, just make sure that it says that the key is unused, that way you can activate it on your pc.

Sign into the account which you have CS:S or 1.6, which ever your going to play, on both computers.

Now signed in on both computers with the same account, which will have the same games, run the games and make a lan game.

See if that works.... I doubt being on LAN they will know if 2 computers are in the same game.
