Counter Strike: Source Not Working....Help Please!

I am having trouble with Counter Strike: Source on my PC. I go into it, go to join a server, and then it freezes, including the mouse. Sometimes I can actually join a game, but a few seconds in, everything still freezes. I have uninstalled it along with Half-Life 2 and it still has the same problem. Any suggestions as to what I should do to fix it?
 
system spec would be nice, if you downloaded the game, that could be why, if not try reinstalling the game, and if it still dont work, it could be a virus and/or spyware. :)
 
Could it be Steam??
You may need to re-download it... It will take a while to download all the new patches but atleast it will still work.
Also could it be your internet connection?
 
No, his internet connection shouldn't stop him from joining games. But it would increase his in-game pings and his load times when he is joining a server, not freeze his game..

Mithrus, did you try turning down some of the settings? Can you give us some general specs?
 
if the game isnt legal then you will be denied access to counterstrike coz steam run huge checks to find out which are copies etc to stop people doing it. if you did download it or its a copy then jsut buy the real think, its pretty cheap and it should then work

Even if he did download it you need a serial to play the game anyway and %99 of the time the CD-Key is taken and wont work, so thats not the problem
 
Well I am running a legal copy of CS:S and so is my friend but my friend has got the same problem. Except his problem is that his graphics card is outdated.
Try buying a new GC or update your old GC
