I have a question to ask. Is anyone's dust2 map is so bright. What's up with that? There is an update for each video card. And I already update mine, but it is still bright after. It just came out today. Please let me know what's up with the brightness. Is that just the game. I know its not my video card.

I think they released HDR technology on de_dust2. I don't know if your GFX card supports it, but it still makes the map brighter for some reason even if you have the bare minimum GFX card to play the game. Wierd. I really think this is the answer to your problem, but there is a possibility that it could be somethine else.

They released it for de_dust not de_dust2 (yet).

Yeah, that is due to the HDR. I am personally not a fan of HDR whatsoever, makes maps look WAY to bright and stupid. I just turn down HDR to bloom or turn it off.

How do you not like HDR? It makes it look alot more realistic and also makes the textures look of higher quality.

Options > Video > Advanced > Turn HDR to off.

It also makes everything look ultra-bright, it annoys the hell outta me. I cant have it on fulll, it just makes the game look retarted.

HDR shouldnt make the game too much brighter, it just makes the lighting levels dynamic. HDR doesnt have to have any bloom at all, its just usualy used along with it to give the illusion if brighter textures.
