Couple of Questions

I'm using a 20' LCD HDTV as my monitor. I'm running the card in my sig, with a DVI -> HDMI. Now I'm experiencing some strange problems. First of all whenever I quit out of certain games, my screen just goes black I can't Alt-Tab or anything. Second Once in awhile I hear a sort of popping sound that comes from TV, and just today as I was switching resolutions in CS:S I heard what sounded like TV static coming from it.

I'm pretty sure these problems are originating from the TV, as I experienced them on my old PC as well. Is using an HDTV a bad idea? Are problems like this common? Should I consider a monitor?

Problems like that certainly are not common and using a HDTV as a monitor is a popular setup.

I'd try a monitor with the computer if you've got one to see if you have the same results. If not, then my guess is as good as your's, which puts fault on the TV.

kinda what I always wondered although I just decided to get a proper 27.5 inch monitor,How does text look on it?

It's certainly not as clear as monitor, but it's nothing that would deter me from using it. Although I am considering buying a monitor now that I am having these problems.

Well I guess you could always just use it for gaming. The size is nice but I noticed that it doesnt help as much because when gaming especially FPS because you have to turn you head a little rather than just your eyes to scan the whole screen.

I actually moved my monitor back some(I have the Hannspree 27.5 inch) so I could just scan with my eyes.It then defeats the purpose of getting a larger monitor.LOL.I think a good 24" is a good size now.

I would have probably gotten a PVA panel because of the truer colors

Sorry if I went of on kinda a tangent there
