Couple Ram Questions. thx

Hi i am in the process of building a new computer and i have a couple questions about the ram i can use. The mobo supports

Number of Memory Slots 4×240pin
Memory Standard DDR3 1600(O.C)/1333
Maximum Memory Supported 16GB
Channel Supported Dual Channel

Ok so im lookin on newegg and this is probably a stupid questions but do i need ddr3 1600 or ddr3 1333 or is that the same thing?

Also it says it supports dual channel does that mean i can only use 2 sticks of ram?

If i can use more than 2 sticks can i use ram that the specifications say.
Multi-channel Kit: Triple Channel Kit

The 1600 is faster ;) They are different in speed

Any you like 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 Ram Cards
But if you buy 2 or 4 Ram Cards, the motherboard will increase the speed through "Dual Channel". Which is lots better

best to purchase 2 x Ram Cards
You could go 2 x 1 Gig Ram cards if you like


By the way the "Motherboard" supports 16Gig, but your Windows version may only support 4Gig of total Ram (probably)
