couple x800 xl questions

i downloaded ATItool to learn more about my video card speeds and whatnot, i am a little intrigued about the speeds though, it shows the core as being 399.21...the card manufacturer says 400...fair enough..BUT it has the memory core at 489.86 and apparently the manufacturer rates it at 980! now there has to be some explanation for that? this is the card i have http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814125174

now that card is notorious for runnimg hot, i knew that before i bought it, ATItool shows it idling at 57 right now, thats celsius i assume....is that hot for a video card? i read on another forum that the x800 xl could handle temps up to 120...but surely that cant be celsius...isnt that hot enough to boil water?! theres a review on newegg saying that the card gets up to 159F while gaming...whats that in celsius? i cant remember how to convert

The card suppose to run at a memory speed of 490. The number they give at the site is double the actural mhz it runs at. This is because it DDR ram so while it only 490mhz it like it being 980mhz.

159F=70C
My video card safe to 115C so it very possiable that the x800XL is safe up to 120C. It might sound hot but video cards are built to handle very high temps.

Did you try getting your card that hot? Or is that the number thats on your Nvidia control panel thing, that says "Core slowdown threshold"?

That the core slowdown threshhold. I also pretty sure Nvidia says somewhere on there site that it safe that high.
