CPU choices. need advice.

hello CF. im currently building my new rig for music production. i have the mobo on the way and i already have RAM, PSU, Case. When i originally planned this out, i wanted the Phenom X6 But funds ran short. so now i have to make an important decision.

I can either buy the Athlon X3 with possible unloackable 4th core but with no L3 cache. or the Phenom X2 with possible unlockable 4th core and including the L3 cache.

Right now im personally leaning towards the Athlon since its cheaper and i can eventually upgrade to the X6 when it gets a little cheaper.

Any advice is appreciated.

why would you recommend that CPU when the 1055T is $5 more?? anyway he said money is tight so ill go with what StrangleHold said.
 
i have $122 in my bank account so im trying to have some left over. something in the $75 range is perfect.

Originally i was gonna get the sempron until i had enough money but id like more than 2 cores.
 
the way i see it is if i buy the X3, ill have 3 cores if im not able to unlock the 4th. if i buy the phenom, im not guaranteed to get the unlocked cores and i'd be stuck with the 2 cores. beside the phenom having the L3 cache, its not that appealing now that i think about it.

$79.01 shipped for the X3 435 from newegg... should I?
 
The Athlon II 445 Rana Triple-Core Processor is a better choice for a processor in my opinion. I built a system with an Athlon II 245 Regor Dual-Core Processor about a year ago and still like what it can do.
