CPU Compatibility..

Ok my main computer I use a lot is a 4500 Dell Dimension, which is heavily upgraded, but I would like to work on the performance part of the comp. I was reading some of the technical specifications for my computers mobo and it sates is can handle a 2.66 Ghz processor at 533 Mhz. I know its nothing super fast or special, but I want to upgrade the processor on my computer. Currently I'm running a 2.26 P4 Ghz processor. My question is, will this motherboard handle a Pentium D 2.66 Ghz at 533 Mhz? Or do you need a board, which will handle dual-core performance? I'm not much of a gamer, but I would like to upgrade to play some of the more modern games and have the capability to multi-task for work purposes. I'm also thinking up upgrading my videocard, does anyone have a good recommendation on one, which is good for gaming, but will also help when working on design apps.
Thanks for the help!

You've got a 845 based board so a pentium D isn't going to happen. According to dell your maxing out on a 2.66GHz Pentium 4. I would stick with a northwood if you were going to upgrade but I don't see much point, you've got some hardware that's 4 generations old.

Yeah, I looked into it more after I posted this an it's not going to work...

Thanks for the help!
