CPU cooler for i7-950 for OC and cooling

Hello,

I'm in need of a decent CPU cooler since my stock Intel is dieing on me, my CPU is getting super hot, like 80°-90°C hot.

I'm looking for a quite (as much as possible) that gets a stable OC for my cpu.

I don't know much about aftermarket coolers, I've searched around the net a bit and found several coolers:

1) Cooler Master Hyper 212 for ~25-30€

2) Corsair Hydro H80i for ~70-90€

I'm more than happy to hear you suggestions and recommendations regarding the matter.

Asus Rampage III Formula

Intel i7-950

EDIT2: I know this is a bit difficult, but is there a cooler that will be "future proof"? I mean to be compatible with the future i7 processors with the apposite bracket down the road?

The h80i is obviously better than the 212. It's worth it, you can also get a h60 if you dont have enough money.
 
A difference I see between the 2 coolers you've listed is that the Cooler Master has a PWM fan that will ramp itself up and down with load on the CPU - The Corsair fan doesn't appear to have a PWM circuit. My setup is similar to the Cooler Master, (Prolimatech Megahalems/Rexus Rexflo 120/PWM). At idle, which is 98% of the time, it's quiet at about 22 dBA - Under max load it's very noticeable at 42 dBA. If the Corsair's fan is running at 37 dBA at all times you might find it too loud. I don't know as I don't have the Corsair - Just saying

Problem is if it'll fit in my case due to the high-profile RAM.

Because noise is bloody annoying? Why do people care about anything?
Just switched from a reference design HD 6950 2GB from HIS to an ASUS DCII GTX 780 - and it's in a completely different ball park. Can't even hear my PC turn on, compared to a jet engine revving up.
 
Btw callin wtf is haswell pain? Is that the pain you feel when haswell bends your AMD chip over?

What are you talking about? Look at his sig you hero. Im referring to his signature. And to be honest, since i have an ivy bridge, no, i don't feel any pain... lol

Yea, I can understand your concern. Don't want to buy something that you can't make work. If your first stick is in the second slot then I'd be surprised if you couldn't make it work. You can zoom in on the pic of mine for a rough idea of how much room a fat air cooler needs. I'm pretty sure 37 dBA full time would bother me, though, as discussed above, wouldn't be an issue at all for others.
 
I believe you can turn the cooler either way, (facing front/back or top/bottom), though, I would think facing top/bottom, would present more clearance challenge as I think it's probably wider than it is thick.
 
It seems that the best solution for my setup is the Corsair Hydro series, since the high-profile RAM doesn't let me enough clearance space for an air-cooler heatsink.

So, I just want to ask a final question. Which one is better, the H75(64€) or the H80i(77€)?

Im confused, if you use the red slots, you still cant put 3 x 2GB DDR3 without clashing with the cooler??
