CPU dilemma. Help!

Hi.

I've posted a lot lately about the new rig that I'm putting together. I really want it to be the best possible for my budget. I'm mainly going to use it for gaming and 3d animating/After effects, so I will probably need a quad core GPU. Yesterday I decided to go with the Q9450 , but when I went to the page where from I will order it says that it isn't coming before the 20th of may(in Denmark). And thats a very loooong time to wait

So my question is what CPU would be the best to go with then for about the same price as the Q9450 or is it really worth waiting for?

It depends. That cpu will be WAYYY better than the 9300 or 6600 especially for the price difference.

I oredered all the parts except the CPU in one order, and then I ordered the Q9540 in a single order, so that if I change my mind I can cancel the order and order another one(for some of the parts it will be around ten days before they arrive). Do you think that I will be able to acheive the same performance by over clocking the Q6600 ? or?

No. The Q6600 has less cache, older architecture, and slower FSB...

Even after OCing, I doubt it. 45nm FTW!
