CPU downgrade?

Hi guys;i have here an old E machines T3958 Intel (R) Celeron CPU 2.93GHZ 1 mem ram, the CPU just burned due to the Bestec Crappy Power supply,
now i changed the power supp with an old HP that i have in my scrap, also i have an Intel CPU 2.00Ghz in my scrap,
My question can i use this Intel 2.00GHZ processor in place of the 2.93GHZ and if good what will be the cons of the change in performance wise?

Note: i have on order 2gb Mem on the way.
 
What are the exact specs of the other chip? If it's the same socket it should work but OEM's frequently have motherboards with crappy support for different processor than what they normally come with. So it's kind of a toss up.
