CPU FAN attachment

how easy should the CPU fan attach to the MOBO.....I had to press fairly firm on the fan to get the 2nd latch to catch.....Not sure if its normal or not....
 
You mean the heatsink, not the fan? The fan usually screws in easily to the heatsink. The heatsink will probably need a fair amount of force. Depending on design it may be worth (or necessary) removing the delicate fan while mounting the heatsink (I always do).
 
as far as amd's retention systems go, its taking a bit of force to get it to latch. thats the reason their adding a bit more bracing to the back of the retention brace now.
