I just bought a amd 64 3800+ for my parents downstairs pc and i installed the stock amd fan that came with it, he fan seems to spin at a fast speed of 5000rpm which is way to noisy, the cpu at 2500rpm keeps the cpu at around 45 degrees. The only way i can keep the fan at an un audible level is by using the overclocking software that came with the Abit AX8 motherboard, in which their is a quiet seeting to limit the rpm, however it goes back to default on a restart, so how can i limit the fan speed permenently?
