I recently purchased an upgrade for my dads computer, and i found that when i turn it on the cpu fan spins the wrong way! why is this happening? is it a problem with the physical wiring?

If its spinnig the wrong way, simply turn the fan over onto the other side...

Or do you mean the actual blades are spinning the wrong way?

swap the red and blue wires over, is it plugged in the right way?
the speed control wire is the black one in the middle, so just plug it in backwards

as long as its functioning I wouldnt worry. If your computer is overheating then get it sorted. But if its doing its job dont worry about it

ohh, so not all of them blow? this one sucks, i thought they all blew :P sry... that came out badly...

o well, ty :) oh, and i finished putting all the wires and everything in, but it wont load windows. it goes through the bios and starts the windows thingy but it restarts straight away... is it the drivers or something else?

Almost all CPU fans blow air onto the CPU. Exceptions to this are very rare. You can still feel airflow on the other side of the HSF, though, if that's what's making you think it's the wrong way around? I don't know what HSF you have, but there will probably be little arrows on the fan which indicate the direction of airflow. If it's mounted the wrong way around, just take it off, flip it over, and screw it back in.

As for your restarting problem, what upgrades did you perform? If you replaced the motherboard, you will need to run at least a repair re-installation of windows.

Yes. You can just do a repair reinstall if you prefer (you won't loose any data, and supposedly all your programs should work, but some don't), although a full reinstall is usually the better way.
