i was thinking of replacing the fan that is on my cpu, right now i have an asus silent knight II and was wondering 2 things (1) is it hard to replace and (2) what is a good cooler that will keep the cpu temps low

1) Not very hard to replace a fan if you know what you're doing and are using the correctly sized fan.
2) Heatsink or fan?

I recommend the cooler master hyper 212+ for budget, thermalright true for performance, and yate loon or scythe fans for the heatsink. I can't post links... I'm on my iPod.

Another goody is the xigmatek red scorpion, but you're going to want the backplate as well if you're going 775 or 1156

they are relatively easy to replace.

what are your system specs? are you overclocking at all?

specs:
Raidmax smilodon case
intel e8400 wolfdale cpu
gigabyte ga-ep35-ds3l motherboard
8 gigs of ram
1.5tb hd
bfg tech geforce 9600 gso
750w corsair psu

and no overclocking
