CPU for my application

First of all I just want to say "Hello" I'm new to this site so sorry for any noob questions.

I do editing on Photoshop CS2 and the computer I edit on the motherboard fried. I'm going to build a new rig but I can't decide on a CPU to even start the build. I have three processors I'm looking at.

Intel Pentium E2180 - 2.0GHz, 1MB Cache, 800MHz FSB, Dual Core
Intel Core2 Duo E4500 - 2.20GHz, 2MB Cache, 800MHz FSB
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ - 2.30GHz, 1MB Cache, 1000MHz (2000 MT/s) FSB, Dual-Core

When I edit I run Photoshop with Itunes and sometimes AIM.
I will probably be running XP, maybe Vista down the road sometime.
I don't run games on my computer, I play games on Xbox 360 (sorry don't flame me).

Thanks in Advance

Photoshop is a very ram intensive program. A fast CPU helps a lot, but Ram is what it really needs. If you are running a 32 bit OS then get 3 gigs of ram, if it is a 64 bit OS then get 4 gigs.

Making a large swap file can help to.

Of the 3 choices you picked, the E4500 would be the best one.

So When I look for a motherboard for my processor I need to look into one that will support 4 gigs of RAM.

Only if you are going to run a 64bit OS. Since only the 64 bit OS's will see 4 gigs or more of ram. The 32bit will only see 3.25 or so of ram max. So putting 4 gigs of ram with a 32bit OS is a waste of money.
