Is there anything wrong with putting a Pentium D 3.4 GHZ if the max is 3.2 GHZ? I am running the 3.4 on my XPS 400 right now and it works fine...

There's no maximum GHz you can upgrade it to. It's only if your motherboard supports that type of processor.
