CPU help

Hi, I am building a PC and need help finding a CPU. I want an AMD. I will be using the PC for surfing the web, downloading music for ipod, streaming videos online, minor video editing and possibly a game(like a flight Sim, nothing advanced).

This one was recommended, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16819103533 but Its only 1ghz and if I am going to spend $220 on a CPU I would expect over 3GHZ. Am I missing something, just clueless about something or is this a rip off? Also that is the most I will spend on a CPU please don't recommend anything more expensive

Please explain.

actually that has a 1ghz FSB but clock speed. It has a 2.2ghz clock speed (said in at the bottem). And nowadays faster clock speed doesn't exactly mean faster. That processor will do you very well.
 
does anyone know of one that will be almost as fast but a little less money? That one is really pushing my budget. Last year when I as going to build a PC I found a nice CPU and it was only setting me back like 115 bucks. How CPU prices gone up or is this a super high end one?

prices haven't gone up, your expectations have lol.

the 3200+ Venice isn't half bad, but stock for stock it's not going to beat a 3500+. the price difference though might not be worth it.
