CPU install problem

How much force is usually required to fit the heatsink for a 3200+?
The side clips went on as expected requiring a little force.
When I now come to move the lever to the lock position it feels that I am about to snap something if I go anywhere near all the way.

It doesn't feel right..

AMD 64 +3200 stock heatsink and fan

Gigabyte GA-K8NF-9 Socket 939 nForce 4-4X PCI-E ATX Moby

It's not right and I can't figure out what's wrong. I'm going to take it tomorrow to my local computer shop and let him have a quick look at it I think.

it should be a fair amount of force, you may need to use more than your thumb. Before you use alot of force, make sure the cpu and heatsink are in the right direction.

Panic over... thanks for your help.

The CPU and Heatsink were the right way round ie fitted correctly. It was just when I tried to put the lever into the lock position it was far tighter and needed much more force than I expected. A bit of muscle and it was sorted.

Thanks for your replies.
