When installing the cpu does it actually snap in or do you just line up the corners and the arrow in the right direction and it sits sercurely in the socket?

It should line up, make sure you line up the arrow correctly.
It should drop into place it can only go in one way correctly.

right but it doesnt click in such as a connector or a gpu it just sits there correct in the right direction?

lga1336 When I put the holder thing on the mobo over top and used the little lever on the side it felt pretty tight.....normal?

For a Core i7 chip, you want the text on the CPU to be upside down, with the top of the text facing south, and the bottom facing north of the socket. Make sense? Like pies said, it will only go in in one direction.

For me, it was as tight as lga 775. You'll know if it's not set properly - it won't fit and you can't really close the clip.

Yah its not hard to line up the arrow or the rest of it really just line up the corners self explantatory right? just making sure it actaully didnt click in rather it sat in the socket.

Correctly or not at all? sorry man just dont want to mess up

No it won't close. Maybe this will help...

Pay attention to the text on the CPU. It needs to be upside down, the south end of the CPU facing up. Sorry, I can't explain it any better. :P

also haha to get thermal past off a cpu rubbing alchol and a cottonball or cloth right?

Use isopropyl alcohol and a coffee filter. You can use a paper towel or a cloth, but I found that a coffee filter leaves less particles behind.

That board is so nice wish it would of been around when I ordered mine. Which was like 2 weeks ago haha

Yeah, it's already out of stock. I received an auto notify email notification and bought it immediately. Thatguy16 found one for $265 outside of newegg, but that was gone in a couple hours.
