cpu low voltage?

wats the difference between a cpu that has low voltage and another cpu that doesnt ahve low voltage???
 
They should perform the same but save you $$ on the electric bill! :)

Not so much, the low voltage models are aimed more towards laptops. Since if a laptop has a low power CPU, it uses less battery power, thereby making the battery last longer.

I was refferencing Desktop CPU's. :o
 
Well look at the new Core 2 Duos they use considerably less power and people OC them like mad. Less power = less heat means better OC'ing. Basically.
 
I know AMD made (or is still working on) an lower voltage version of the AM2 X2's. these are more pointed towards professional use tough i think... since energy consumption is a thing they really have to look at in companies.
But.. they have the same performance,.. they cost more than a normal one.. so its only usefull if you have them running almost 24/7
