CPU overclock question

I was wondering, other than the extra heat resulting of an overclock, does a high overclock shorten CPU life any (with out raising voltages).

Basically, if you have an E8400/ 8500 overclocked to 4.2GHz, as long as temps. are the same with an aftermarket cooler, and as long as you do not up the voltage any, does an overclock shorten the life of a CPU at all?

It may do, but to be honest, it's nothing you'd notice. You'd want to replace the CPU long before it dies.

It'll still last a good 7 years or so.
